FRESHER'S QUIZ 2013

RVQuizCorp organised and conducted the Fresher's Quiz for the incoming first years of 2013. The quiz was hosted on the 31st of August at the IEM Auditorium, RVCE. We had a first year give us her perspective of the whole event to give this whole process a personal touch. Coming from somebody who has never quizzed before, the Freshers Quiz was the reason I decided to try my hand at quizzing. It was that awesome.

It was the reason I joint QC.

It all started with a video for us Freshers; which provided us an insight into the club. We stared at it in awe and aprehensively went on to take the prelims, wondering if we were smart enough to make it to the finals. And surprisingly enough, my teammate n I made it. Not that the prelims was tough. It was an interesting round, that involved koshans all twisted up and presented in an interesting way. It made common things seem interesting.And then we had the finals. 5 rounds of it. Each round, we scored points. And lost 'em.Each round, we learnt. We learnt about things we never thought existed. After each round, we realised everything had a story to tell; literally everything. At the end of it, it didn't matter to us whether we won or lost; what mattered was the fun we had pouncing on questions, the fun we had figuring out answers, the fun we had while shamefully passing our turns, the fun we had putting funda, the fun we had learning new things and the fun we had quizzing.
